Makeup, Hair and Skincare Favorites
Shea Moisture Extra Virgin Coconut OilI wish I discovered the virtues of coconut oil a long time ago. All the struggles that I had trying to find the best lotion or moisturizer could have been eliminated with good old natural coconut oil. I love that it just melts in my hand and smells divine.
YSL Black Opium Dry Oil For Body and Hair
Black Opium is one of my favorite fragrances, so having it in oil form has been a life send. I like to pair the oil with the liquid fragrance to guarantee the scent that last all day.
Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm
Probably the most enjoyable thing at the end of the day other than putting on my pajamas and relaxing for the night is taking off my makeup. Clinique's cleansing balm is easy to use, I just slather it all on my face and off comes my makeup. I usually follow that up by cleansing my face with the Simple face wash and I'm ready for bed.
Dove Dry Spray Antiperspirant
Spray on antiperspirant has never been anything that I was willing to try, I thought it would be a sticky and hard to use mess. This month I decided to take the plunge and pick up the Dove dry spray, after using it for the first time my opinion has definitely changed. The Dove dry spay comes in a lot of different scents that last all day, I won't be going back to traditional stick deodorant anytime soon.
Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Hair Serum
The Jamaican black castor oil range from Shea Moisture is my ultimate favorite of all the Shea Moisture ranges. The serum from this range has been a game changer. Keeping my hair moisturized can be a struggle for me but this serum with its easy to use applicator and amazing smell make it a must have in my hair regime.
NYX Wonder Stick
I must admit that makeup is not my strong suite, so whenever there is a tool or new product that can make my makeup application easier it becomes a must have for me. I love the NYX brand, I have had a lot of their products as my favorites in the past months. The Wonder Stick makes contouring super easy I just apply to where I want to contour and blend it out. The highlighting part of the stick is nice but it lacks the shimmer or glow you would get from other highlighters.
Fashion Favorites
MICHAEL Michael Kors Daniela Crossbody BagI wrote a review on the MK Daniela on my last blog post, with the short time that I've had the bag this month it has easily become my favorite of the month. In my review I wrote how the bag fit all my daily essentials plus more and that still rings true. I've carried it to work everyday this week and have loved the flexibility that it has given me. I have my eye on a blush pink version of the bag that would be perfect for spring.
ASOS Curve Slouch Marl Wide Leg Pants
Comfort has become queen for me lately, so when I saw these ASOS pants I had to have them. These pants are made soft jersey, they have a stretchy waistband and wide legs. They are a little long if you are on the shorter side, but despite that they feel like your wearing pajama pants all day which always gets a thumbs up from me.
Merona Kona Backless Mule Loafers
Loafer mules are huge right now, basically every brand has their own version of them. The Gucci Princetown loafer mules have been my favorite version of the trend, but with Gucci comes the Gucci price tag $$$. I happened upon these super similar mules on a trip to Target, you get the look at the fraction of the price.
Movie, Television & Music Favorites
Beauty and The BeastBeauty and The Best was a beautiful fairy tale that made me desperately want to find my Beast and live happily ever after 😊. As I watched the movie I found myself constantly smiling at how amazing the movie was. I loved that the movie took the time to show Belle and Beast actually falling in love. The new song Evermore is my hands down favorite song from the whole movie(I love Dan Stevens voice!), I've been playing it on repeat for weeks. I thought all the characters were well cast and helped bring a decades old fairy tale to life in the most beautiful of ways.
Feud: Bette and Joan
Feud is an FX docudrama about the epic rivalry between Bette Davis and Joan Crawford during the 1960's. I love the history in the show, Bette and Joan were epic divas who worked hard in an industry that at times seemed to shun them. The show is a shade-fest joyride that keeps me wanting for more.
Logan
My favorite movie this month was Logan, I love comic book movies so Logan was right up my alley. Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart were amazing, the movie was a tour de force of emotions with Jackman giving a performance of a lifetime as in his final bow as Wolverine. I really enjoyed the nonstop action and loved the familial relationship between Wolverine, Professor X, and X-23. I thought Logan was a thrilling movie that solidifies Jackman's legacy as Wolverine.
I've been looking forward to new music from Daley for a long time. His 2014 album Days & Nights was one of my favorite albums of that year, I remember constantly playing it on repeat. His new single Until The Pain Is Gone features the incredible singer-songwriter Jill Scott, its a beautiful soulful record that highlights Daley's amazing voice. I can't wait for the new album that should be right around the corner.
ZHU's 2016 album, Generationwhy, was one of my favorite albums from last year I even added to my best of the year 2016 music favorites. His new single Nightcrawler highlights all the things that I love about ZHU's music, he can never do wrong in my book.
I discovered Goldlink last year when I happened upon his song Spectrum from his 2015 album, "And After That, We Didn't Talk". After listening to the rest of the songs on that album, Goldlink quickly became one of my favorite rappers. His new album, At What Cost, was an album that I was eagerly anticipating especially after the single Meditation ft Jazmine Sullivan & KAYTRANADA was released. I love every song in the album but my top favorites are Hands On Your Knees, Meditation, Summatime, Roll Call, Some Girl, and Pray Everyday (Survivors Guilt).
